Thanksgiving 2008

Hi everyone, I thought we might try using this blog to see if it is easier for us to communicate.

Now that things are settled, would it be okay if I took Thanksgiving on at our house? I talked to Dad and told him that we would cook the turkey this year. He and Aunt Sylvia don’t need to be on their feet all day.

If I can just get a good count as to who is coming from each household, that would help in my planning.

Here is a list to sign up for:

Turkey: Andrea
Stuffing: Andrea
Gravy: Andrea
Potatoes: Andrea
Sourkraut: Dad
Winter Squash:
Green Beans:
Sweet Potatoes:
Potato Chips/Dip:
Olives:
Other Veggie?
Rolls:
2 Pumpkin Pies and Whipped Cream:
2 Apple Pies:

Anything else???

About the beach, I don't think I can go. Melan and Nick are having a little gathering on Sunday at noon to plant a tree honoring Anna. Her ashes will be placed at its roots.

Lori, why do you have to work on Thanksgiving?
1 pm works for me.
Andrea, give M and N a hug from me.

Lori left for Haiti this morning. Everyone say a little prayer for her safe return. She has gone to be 'St. Francis' to the very, very poor in our Sister Parish. People at St. Margaret Mary have been purchasing chickens, cows, goats and pigs for people in Haiti for over a year. They will buy an animal for an alternative gift for someone. Lori is going to down to teach them to care for them and tell them about vaccines, etc.

She works on OUR Thanksgiving because we made up our very own Thanksgiving day on Saturday :)

I was going to invite the sisters, but I know that you all have Carol, so please feel free to skip it if you would like. I will invite Dad and Aunt Sylvia if they would like to come.

The cold weather has slowed me down a bit. Wish we could be there. Someone give M & N a big hug for me.

I'm back from North Carolina. The house is coming along. We met with the builder and made some decisions. It should be done in March.

So I will pick up Carol and Aunt Sylvia on Friday night and Carol suggested she stay with me on Friday night and she can help for Saturday.

Does this sound okay with everyone?

Hi everyone - I am home from Haiti safe and sound (tired, but good)
I will probably have to do store-bought pies, and my plan is to drop them off with Andrea sometime on Friday since who knows how things will go on Saturday?
I guess I will have to call after I'm off work Saturday and see if the party is still going on!
